Blount International Oregon® PowerNow™ Cordless Tool System brand design

Background

Blount has been a leading manufacturer of chainsaw chains and equipment for pro loggers and landscapers since 1947. Given all of these years of experience in the industry, the company finally decided to launch their own line of landscaping products – an innovative line of cordless power outdoor tools. At the center of this new power system is a robust 36V lithium-ion battery that would be interchangeable within the product line. The products would be sold under their Oregon brand name and marketed primarily to homeowners. Blount needed a new brand identity and over-arching brand language that would quickly communicate the value proposition and resonate with consumers.

Solution

The new PowerNow™ brand language uses a flexible modular design that represents the key feature of the line – the interchangeable battery system. The rectangular modules with rounded corners echo the structural design of the tools and battery. The brand language balances this strong modular system with natural, real-life photography and engaging copy. The end result is a design that speaks to the strength and flexibility of the PowerNow™ tool system as well as its ease of use.
